Apartment Location

Our holiday apartment is set amongst the tranquillity of fragrant orange groves in Vale Carro, close to the fishing village of Olhos D’Agua (near the Sheraton Pinecliffs Resort) and a pleasant walking distance to local restaurants. Surrounded by rolling fields and orange groves, making it perfect for a relaxed away from it all break, yet within easy reach of a great variety of local amenities (shops, beaches, golf courses, restaurants, nightlife and much more); or you can simply take it easy, lie back and enjoy your holiday haven, relaxing around our lovely pool.

The apartment is close to a number of towns that offer interesting opportunities for those guests that like to explore their holiday surroundings.

Olhos De Agua

Olhos d'Agua (meaning "eyes of the sea") is a pleasant fishing village between Vilamoura and Albufeira. The name "Olhos D Agua" is derived from the fresh water springs visible amongst the rocks at low tide. Olhos D'Agua is 6km distance from Albufeira Old Town and 3km from Albufeira Strip where most of Albufeira's nightlife is located. A traditional Algarvian village, Olhos D'Agua has many facilities including: supermarkets, banks, a post office, beaches, health centres, in addition to the bars, restaurants and hotels. The promenade has been substantially remodeled since 2002 with improved beach front access, toilets and showers.

Albufeira

Albufeira is one of the leading tourist resorts of the region. New developments include a marina, golf courses plus innumerable hotels and apartment blocks for the annual flood of visitors.

The architecture of the town ranges from typically Algarvian narrow streets with pale white and sometimes tiled houses though to the very modern tourist developments. The apartments near the newly built marina are a unique spash of pinks, blues and yellows, dubbed Legoland by the local inhabitants.

In the evening Albufeira comes alive with bars, restaurants and shops to suit most tastes from authentical Portuguese fare to Irish Pubs and Sports Bars. Local culinary specialities are the cataplana (steamed shellfish), the caldeirada (fish stew), and the simpler grilled sardines.

Vilamoura

Vilamoura is the name given to an area rather than to any actual town. It is outstanding in that it is one of the largest single tourist complex in Europe and covers some 2.000 hectares of land.

Vilamoura is ideally located and is bursting with sporting and leisure facilities for the whole family. It is a place for rest and relaxation but also for pursuing active pastimes and sports, with four golf courses a vast marina. Vilamoura is home to one of the Algarve's three casinos. Vilamoura is Portuguese, but also truly cosmopolitan.

Acoteias - Falesia Beach

Situated away from the main tourist areas, Acoteias has an excellent beach backed by the cliffs of Falesia beach. The Acoteias village is some way inland while the beach itself is long and spacious, clean, well maintained and normally has crystal clear water. Access to the beach and a small restaurant is via a set of stairs from the road.

Acoteias has expanded in recent years to become an increasingly popular holiday destination. Most of the cafes, bars, shops and accommodation are in the main street in the central area, but there has also been some development between the village and the beach. There are plenty of places to eat with a wide range of foods available.
